Terms of Service

By using StartAton, the startup validation platform, you confirm that you have read, understood and fully accepted these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any of these terms, please do not use the service.

StartAton reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by email. Continuing to use the platform after the notice constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

StartAton is a service for adults (18+) who want to validate, develop or start a business.

• Over 18: you can sign up and use the platform on your own. • Between 14 and 17: sign-up is only allowed with the prior written consent of a parent or of the person with parental responsibility, who takes full responsibility for the minor's use of the service. On request, we must be able to verify who gave the consent (e.g. a copy of an ID document or an email confirmation from the parent). • Under 14: use of the service is not allowed. In accordance with the GDPR (Article 8) and Italian Legislative Decree 101/2018, StartAton does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 14.

If we become aware that an account belongs to a child under 14, or to a minor between 14 and 17 without valid parental consent, we immediately suspend and delete the account and the related data. A parent or guardian can ask at any time for the account of a minor to be deleted by writing to info@startaton.com.

StartAton is in no way liable for false statements made at sign-up about the age of the user or the existence of parental consent. Responsibility for such statements, and for their civil and legal consequences, lies entirely with the person who signed up and, in the case of a minor, with the person who has parental responsibility.

The startup ideas, projects, business plans, texts and any other content you enter on StartAton remain your exclusive intellectual property.

StartAton does not claim any ownership rights over the content you create or upload on the platform. We do not use your ideas for our own commercial purposes, we do not share them with third parties without your explicit consent and we do not use them to train artificial intelligence models.

The AI engine of the platform (Aton) is built on models from selected third-party providers. Conversations are processed to provide you with the service and may be used in anonymous, aggregated form solely to improve the quality of the service itself, never to identify you or expose your content.

StartAton grants you a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to access and use the platform for your own personal or professional purposes.

You agree to use StartAton lawfully and respectfully. In particular, you must not:

• Use the platform to develop ideas that are clearly illegal, fraudulent or harmful (e.g. pyramid schemes, scams, activities that break national or international laws). • Try to get around the security systems or the limits of the platform. • Share your login details with third parties. • Reverse engineer, scrape or attack the platform. • Use the platform for activities that infringe the rights of third parties.

StartAton reserves the right to suspend or delete accounts that breach these conditions, even without notice.

The processing of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at /en/privacy.

In short: we only collect the data needed to provide the service (email, name, the content you enter). We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for advertising purposes. You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time from the Settings page: all your data will be permanently removed.

StartAton is a tool that supports business decision-making. The content generated by Aton is educational and informative. It does not constitute legal, financial, tax or investment advice.

StartAton does not guarantee that the information provided is complete, accurate or up to date. You use the information and advice you receive on the platform at your own risk.

To the extent permitted by the applicable law, StartAton shall in no event be liable for direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use (or inability to use) of the service, including loss of data, loss of profit or business interruption.

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including (without limitation) warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

The investor portal (Project Analysis / Aton Score) is a service reserved for accounts activated by invitation. It generates assessment dossiers on business projects using artificial intelligence, with checks against cited public web sources. By using it you accept the following specific conditions:

• The dossier (including the risk index, the To-Be potential, the recoverable points per issue, the intervention priorities, the action plans and the updated assessment after review) is a methodological tool to support assessment. It does not constitute financial advice, an investment recommendation, legal or accounting due diligence, or a solicitation of public investment. • Every investment or financing decision remains the sole competence and responsibility of the user. AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions or out-of-date data: always check critical information before deciding. • The derived indicators (To-Be potential, recoverable points, levers, action plans) are methodological estimates calculated from the analysis. They are not certain forecasts or promises about the results of the project assessed. • By uploading documents you declare that you have the right to share them for the purpose of the assessment (for example because you received them directly from the proposer for that purpose) and you indemnify StartAton against third-party claims relating to documents uploaded without that right. • Uploaded documents are deleted automatically once the analysis is complete, as described in the Privacy Policy. Analyses that are not completed because of technical errors do not use up your available credit. • The service is provided "as is": the limitations of liability in the previous section apply in full.

Subscriptions (Aton Core and Aton PRO) are monthly, renewing automatically every month until you cancel, or yearly, paid in advance with no renewal: a yearly plan stays active for 12 months and then ends with no further charges. Yearly plans activated before November 2026 keep automatic yearly renewal until cancelled. The monthly Aton Core subscription ends when you finish the journey, once Aton approves the last module. The showcase is reserved for those who finished the journey with an active plan.

StartAton offers a free plan with usage limits (35 messages a day) and two subscription plans, Aton Core and Aton PRO. Aton Core has the same daily message limit as the free plan. Only Aton PRO has higher message limits. StartAton may change these thresholds at any time, giving notice through the service.

Payments for paid plans are handled by certified third-party payment processors. StartAton does not store your credit card details.

You can cancel a subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for: from then on you go back to the Free plan, modules 2 to 6 are locked and the work you have done stays saved. There are no refunds for partial periods, unless stated otherwise and within the limits set by the applicable law, including the right of withdrawal described in the next section.

If you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from a paid subscription (Aton Core or Aton PRO) within 14 days of the day you subscribe, without giving any reason.

Aton Core and Aton PRO are digital services. At checkout you expressly ask us to start your subscription immediately, so you can use every module straight away. You keep your right of withdrawal: if you withdraw within the 14 days, we refund what you paid minus an amount proportionate to the days already used, up to the day you tell us you are withdrawing.

To withdraw, write to info@startaton.com, ideally from the email address of your account, with a clear statement that you wish to withdraw (for example: "I withdraw from my Aton Core subscription"). You can also use the model withdrawal form below, but you do not have to. It is enough to send your message before the 14 days are over.

We will refund you within 14 days of receiving your request, using the same payment method you used, unless you expressly agree otherwise. The refund costs you nothing.

These Terms of Service are governed by Italian law. For any dispute arising from the use of StartAton, the parties agree to try first to reach an amicable settlement.

If no agreement is reached, the courts of Milan (Italy) have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory law provides otherwise. If you are a consumer living in the European Union, you can always bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, and the choice of Italian law does not take away the protection given to you by the mandatory rules of your country.
